Avondale, meaning “valley of the waters,” is the ideal name for this plan. The Avondale was designed to grow gracefully with one family’s changing needs. Created as a substantial weekend retreat, this home can easily become a permanent residence once children are grown. The owners wanted to create a warm and inviting yet spacious great room, which features a cedar-lined cathedral ceiling warmed by a corner fireplace constructed from cultured stone. The richness of solid oak is prominent throughout the Avondale, evident in such carefully crafted accents as the railings of the home’s grand upper entranceway and the polished hardwood throughout the main level. To complete this design, the one-of-a-kind upper bedroom suite has a large roman tub situated under two large, fixed glass windows. A grand staircase leads to French doors that open to a sumptuous master suite. Ten large windows form the Avondale’s impressive prow. The bright kitchen has plenty of practical work space and features an island bar. |
